McConnell’s Sherry Cask Finish is a testament to aged perfection, matured for five years in select bourbon barrels before being finished in the finest Oloroso Sherry casks. This process enhances the whisky with rich aromas of dried figs, dark chocolate, and lingering spice. The Oloroso Sherry casks, specially selected by Master Distiller Graeme Millar, play an essential role in shaping the whisky’s character. Their rustic wood allows for increased interaction between the whisky and the sherry-soaked staves, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile. Once used for maturing Spanish Oloroso Sherry, a rich and nutty fortified wine, these casks add a layer of sophistication and depth to the whisky.
