We’ve Got a list of our 4 Favorite Autumn Cocktails
As the evenings get longer and the days start to get a bit cooler, we all need to tuck in to some warming drinks once and awhile. Our favorite autumn cocktails are packed with the season’s best spices! Which will you try? Don’t forget to @ us if you make any of these drinks! We’d love to share your creations.
Hot (Irish) Whiskey
The essential chilly weather drink!
- ¾ cup water
- 1 ½ ounces whiskey
- 2 to 3 teaspoons honey, to taste
- 2 to 3 lemon slices
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)
Press cloves into the peel of the lemon slice all the way around. Set aside. Measure the sugar into a thick glass or mug. Place a metal spoon into the glass. Pour boiling water over the back of the spoon so your glass does not shatter. Stir in your honey. Pour in the whiskey and add the lemon slice. Garnish with cinnamon and then let it all steep for a few minuets before drinking.
Pumpkin Spiced Cocktail
Nothing like a bit of pumpkin spice to start the season!
- 1 1/2 ounces whiskey
-
1/2 ounce brandy-based orange liqueur
-
1 ounce maple syrup or honey
-
2 tablespoons pumpkin purée
-
1 dash citrus bitters
-
Cinnamon to garnish
Combine your whiskey, orange liqueur, pumpkin puree, syrup, and bitters in an ice filled cocktail shaker. Give it a good shake and strain it (you might want to double strain) into a chilled glass. You can add ice to the glass, or leave it out. Top with a pinch of cinnamon to taste!
Apple Tonic
FYI, Irish Whiskey pairs perfectly with apple.
- 1 Slice Apple
- 1/2 tsp apple juice
- 60 ml whiskey
- 30 ml Lemon Juice
- 30 ml honey
- Brown sugar and rosemary to garnish
This is such a simple drink. Sugar the rim of your glass. Add your ingredients into an iced shaker. Shake it well and then pour over ice into a tumbler. You can top up your glass with extra apple juice to taste. Garnish the drink with an apple slice and a bit of fresh rosemary.
Spiked Hot Chocolate
A seasonal classic we all know and love.
- 2 oz whiskey liqueur
- 9 oz hot milk
- 3 oz hot cocoa mix
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp kosher salt
- Milk chocolate shavings to garnish
Warm all of your ingredients on the hop over medium to low heat. Be sure to stir slowly until slightly simmering. Pour the mixture into a mug and serve hot. Garnish with chocolate shavings (or marshmallows) if you’d like!
