our 3 Favorite Valentine’s Day Cocktails

Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly this year. How will you be celebrating? Here at Irishmalts, we will be mixing up some yummy drinks that are better than a bland old glass of wine! Don’t forget to @ us if you make any of these drinks! We’d love to share your creations.

The Irish Old Fashioned

The essential whiskey drink!

  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1-2 dashes citrus bitters
  • splash of cold water
  • 60ml Irish Whiskey
  • soda water (optional)
  • 1 fresh cherry (optional)

Put your sugar, orange bitters and the water into a tumbler. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then fill your glass with ice and stir in the Irish Whiskey. Feel free to add a splash of soda water if you like and mix. Garnish the glass with 1 cherry!

The Gin Fizz Fix

Nothing beats a Gin cocktail on V-Day!

  • 50ml gin
  • 25ml lemon juice
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • Some ice
  • Sparkling water
  • 1 strawberry (sliced)

Pour your Irish Gin, fresh lemon juice and sugar into a good cocktail shaker and fill up with ice cubes. Shake this well. Strain everything into a tall glass. You can add more ice if you’d like, then top up the glass with sparkling water. Garnish with a strawberry or two!

A Valentine In A Glass

Need we say more?

  • 150ml cranberry juice
  • 1 tsp grenadine
  • 50ml vodka
  • A handful of ice
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 4 raspberries
  • Cold prosecco

This is a nice and easy drink. Mix the cranberry juice, grenadine and Irish vodka in a good sized cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Squeeze over the lime wedge and shake your cocktail just enough to combine everything. Strain the cocktail into two champagne glasses. Garnish with fruit to taste, then top up the glass with the chilled prosecco!
