Glendalough 7 Year Porter Cask Finish

There are not enough products in stock

Glendalough have very deliberately chosen a period of seven years to age this whisky: seven is not only the number of year that St Kevin spent in the wild, but also a nod to the 'City of Seven Churches' he built at Glendalough. The whiskey inside the bottle graced by St Kevin's image is a floral, fruity whiskey with cinnamon and white pepper highlights. After spending 7 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, this whiskey is finished in Black Pitts porter casks from The Five Lamps Brewery.

Tasting Notes

NoseThe Nose is rich and sweet, with a touch of cinnamon and more than a hint of citrus fruits - orange zest, lemon infused with vanilla ice cream. A touch of fresh floral notes like meadow flowers.
PalateA silky smooth palate with the returning orange zest tones to the fore, with rich creme brulee and dark chocolate notes and just enough cinnamon and white pepper spice to keep it interesting, followed by the beautiful robust malt and oak influenced flavours.
FinishSpicy sweet notes elegantly marry on the finish and stay an eternity.
