About Clonakilty Single Pot Still
On May 1st, 2019, Clonakilty produced its inaugural Single Pot Still spirit, and within just a year, it earned the prestigious title of the World’s Best Irish Single Pot Still New Make at the World Whiskies Awards. This remarkable spirit has now matured into an exceptional whiskey, and its long-awaited release is finally here.
Clonakilty Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey represents a true essence of Irish whiskey, crafted from barley cultivated on the family farm by the Atlantic Ocean and triple distilled using traditional copper pot stills. Oisín Mulcahy, the Head Distiller at Clonakilty, remarked, “The elements come together to create the perfect balance of sweetness and a full-bodied character, leaving behind delicate hints of caramel and citrus peel on the finish.”
About the Clonakilty Distillery
The Scully family, founders of the Clonakilty distillery, have cultivated this windswept coastal land for nine consecutive generations. Blessed with nature’s finest offerings—prime land, crystal-clear water, and invigorating salt sea air—they possess the ideal elements for a maritime distillery.
The family cultivates their own heritage barley on the farm, nestled beneath the Galley Head Lighthouse. Here, centuries of sea mist, gentle rain, and ocean spray enrich the soil, imbuing each individual grain with remarkable complexity.
