The Echlinville Distillery became Northern Ireland’s first licensed distillery in over 125 years distilling its first spirit in 2013. Their ethos of not compromising their desire to produce the finest whiskey conceivable, gives the spirit its authenticity and provenance. It tells the story of the land from which it originates, and of those who brought it to life.

Northern Ireland’s only farm distillery, Echlinville appreciate the importance of terroir, having worked the land through generations of their families. The Ards Peninsula is the home of the Echlinville Distillery, a unique topography, of rich soil, saline air and temperate climate.

This inherent understanding, the sensitivity to place, empowers the Distillery to produce spirit unique in character and true of place. Their barley is grown in the fields surrounding the distillery where they have revived the age old tradition of distillery floor malting, a true nod to producing spirit from field to glass.
